Honours

Honours awarded as our country's highest acknowledgements

Finland has three official orders: Order of the Cross of Liberty, Order of the White Rose of Finland and Order of the Lion of Finland. Kultakeskus is proud to produce decorations for all of the orders. The Grand Master of the orders, the President of Finland, is responsible for granting honours.

Order of the Cross of Liberty

The history of the oldest order in Finland, the Order of the Cross of Liberty, is linked to Finland's independence. The Cross of Liberty and Medal of Liberty were founded following the decision by the Senate of Finland on March 4, 1918. The Order of the Cross of Liberty was assigned a military merit order under a regulation in 1940.
